Course Choice Advice

When choosing which subjects to study, you should consider:

  • what are my skills – what am I good at?
  • what are my interests – what do I enjoy?
  • what job am I interested in/what career area am I interested in?

You are recommended to take a range of subjects –  this is due to the fact that:

  • you may change your mind in the future and decide to follow a very different career path
  • the job you are interested in may not exist in the future
  • you have to be prepared/have the skills to fit the future job market

You should conduct research:

  • make sure you are making decisions and choosing subjects which will allow you to progress to the course/job/apprenticeship you are interested in.
