When choosing which subjects to study, you should consider:
-
what are my skills – what am I good at?
-
what are my interests – what do I enjoy?
-
what job am I interested in/what career area am I interested in?
You are recommended to take a range of subjects – this is due to the fact that:
- you may change your mind in the future and decide to follow a very different career path
- the job you are interested in may not exist in the future
- you have to be prepared/have the skills to fit the future job market
You should conduct research:
- make sure you are making decisions and choosing subjects which will allow you to progress to the course/job/apprenticeship you are interested in.
