Today we were learning about arrays so we went outside and made arrays using items from nature.

Fantastic Forces Topic Launch- P3H
Today in P3 we launched into our Fantastic Forces Topic with a bang! We had lots of fun at our Workshop with Lee from  Funky Science
We learned about gravity and  different forces . We got to make and launch our own rockets!
We had lots of questions which we are looking forward to answering with our learning this term!
Curriculum Afternoon For primary 1

Amazing Africa – P3H
This term we have been learning all about Africa.
“We have been learning about the country, the people and the language have been enjoying learning about the African way of life.”- Joel
“We have been in the kitchen  cooking recipes with an African Twist. We used local ingredients and have been learning about food journeys and making sustainable food choices. So far we have made African rice and beans and North African soup. We got to try our recipes and they were delicious!” – Rebecca
” We have been learning about the Masai culture and created our own Masai art work using lines and patterns. We have been creating our own African patterns and made our Masai necklaces.” – Gregor
“We have been learning Swahili which is one of the languages of Africa. We have learned how to count to 10.” – James
” We are writing story books which we will send to schools in Uganda. As in the schools in Uganda they do not have many books at all. My story is called Adika’s adventure!” Matthew J
“We have been playing African instruments and creating different sounds and rhythms! We have learned a song called Jambo Bwana which we are going to sing now for you all.” Lili

Primary 1 Trip to Balmaha, Loch Lomond
We had a great time on our trip to Balmaha, Loch Lomond, where we enjoyed lots of activities in the outdoors. We got to meet the Park Rangers and enjoyed going on a bug hunt, nature walk and doing Art in nature!
P1 Forest School
For our final week of Forest school we went on a Easter Hunt in the forest. There were lots of Easter eggs hidden around the Forest! Inside the easter eggs there were Wild flower seeds which we then planted. We hope to watch our wildflower garden grow over the next few months.
We listened to the birds singing and made our own #promisesfortheplanet following all of our learning over the past few weeks about how we can look after our world.

Here are some photos from our learning journey this term. We have been learning all about The Jungle.
We have been enjoying writing our own books ‘Rumble in the Jungle’ and are looking forward to sharing our books with everyone tomorrow!
Forest school
In Forest school, we are learning to look after nature.
We went on a nature hunt, sang forest songs and  played in nature.
We placed bird houses throughout the trees to provide homes and food for wild birds during the cold winter.
We have planted some wild flower seeds to create a wild flower garden provide a home for more wildlife.
We have been comparing our local environment with The Amazon Jungle and learning to THINK LOCAL, ACT GLOBAL.
