Today we had our last STEM session. Emma Chittick was really pleased with all the skills that the class demonstrated, not just ICT skills, but cooperation and helping each other too.
Cole said “It was fun, going around the pretend city. It was also fun controlling the robots and telling them what to.”
Archie said “It was good. I most enjoyed programming the robots.”
Christie said “I loved the way you could do the task in your own way.”
Joanna said “ It was fun and it could make people more aware about all the different things you can do with screens.”
Emmy said “It was to learn about the driverless cars and the advantages and disadvantages of them.”
We have now finished our videos to send to the French competition. Here is one of the ones that we made earlier – an interview with Mbappe at Paris St Germain! Archie, Ronan and Junias take a bow!!!
Today, the class were given their next challenge, they had to deliver a ‘baguette ‘ by a driverless car! We used sensors, sound, the front lever to do this. We’ve got quite a few expert engineers now!
This afternoon we had our last training and so we will be able to start our play leaders again at break times. Everyone did very well and enjoyed it all.
Today, all our groups started working together to rewrite the Christmas Carol story. They are helping each other with the outline and then everyone will independently write their own version. Some people in our class are very good at being focused on a task and at helping others.🏆🎖
We had a great time in the Pool room programming our robots today. Everyone is getting really good at knowing how to make the robots move, turn, make sound, use the grabbing arm and the sensors. Engineers in the making!
Today we enjoyed working together in our Focus Friday groups to learn about SHANARRI. It is an acronym for words about our wellbeing : safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, respected, responsible, included.
