This afternoon we had to make the longest paper chain that we could, out of just one sheet of A4 paper.
Mirrin and Joanna won, with a length of 4.75m!

This afternoon, we had our first Christmas concert and P7 were fantastic. Well done to everyone and especially to Mrs Inkster for all her help. The class started with Merry Christmas Eveyone. The instrumentalists played beautifully and the singers were superb. Then everyone sang Little Drummer Boy, Issac sang a solo, while Hannah played the keyboard. It all sounded wonderful.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE 🎄
You’ve still got time to see it tonight at 7.
Today we have been finding out about circuits
This afternoon we finished off our models and what a great job everyone has done. Lots of imagination has gone into all the different designs .
Well done P7s.
The Primary 7s worked really hard during the last two terms on the Virgin Make £5 Grow enterprise project. They raised money for their school trip and staycation and will be selling more at a future date. Altogether so far, they have raised a fantastic £ 543.90!
We posted the amount on our FB page a few weeks ago.
Today we started to find out about electricity. We used the equipment that Ms Scanlan received from her SSERC science training last year. We found out about how circuits work, so that we could light a lamp and we found out about electrons.
Here are some of the circuits that we made.
Great progress is being made on our models. Everyone is busy this afternoon painting and decorating them. I can’t wait to see what they end up looking like!
This afternoon we continued on with our energy topic by looking at how pneumatic systems work.
We used two syringes, some tubing, a burger box, a paper cup and a pipe cleaner. We have made our model and they all open and close using pneumatics. We just need to paint and decorate them…watch this space!
Today is our final STEM session.
We started off by doing a sort activity about different types of energy.
Then we made a solar and wind farm.
Robert Leask really enjoyed making the power sources with Toby, Roman and Daniel.
Faith said “ It was really good fun to see how many volts our model generated – it was 4 volts!”
Isaac said “I liked fiddling around with all the little pieces. “
Mia especially enjoyed building the wind turbines.
This afternoon Elliot Tait and Isa Bragg from CAB, came in to run a workshop about Climate Change and its effects. We had a really interesting afternoon, with lots of discussion and activities.
