We had a little surprise when we watched our movie. Our ice lollies certainly went down a treat.
Thank you Mrs Ward and Mrs Hope !

We learned more about the water cycle by using this mini water cycle in our classroom.
It was fun watching the river filling up as the ice melted and seeing the condensation turn into water droplets.
Our caterpillars are thriving and it has been amazing seeing them growing so quickly.
They are definitely very hungry caterpillars!
They are getting ready to change into chrysalis now – expect the unexpected!
23/06/21 – Ready for a big change! About to make chrysalis now.
We managed to complete our rainy day pictures this afternoon. They remind us of how wet it was in May.
For the second painting we dabbed blobs of plain water onto our paper then we added the paint to the water blobs. It had a very similar effect to water colour painting.
It was exciting watching the clear water blobs take colour and spread on the paper.
An exciting way to explore position and movement.
The Beebots helped us to learn how to read coordinates on a grid. We read along the bottom of the grid then up the side.
Our grids were too small for the Beebots so, we moved onto plan B. We quickly drew pictures and placed them underneath the plastic mats.
This worked and we had great fun exploring the grid with the Beebots.
Our beans are being watered carefully but, we have not seen any shoots popping up yet.
We had a live delivery on Monday – of five tiny caterpillars.
We are excited to see the changes as they happen before our eyes. Already they are about 4 times the size they were when we met them!
Our recording sheets are helping us to chart the changes they go through as they grow.
It was fun discovering that everything is made up of molecules.
We went outside and played a game to find out how the molecules make up solids, liquids and gases.
Molecules in solids are packed tightly together.
Molecules in liquids are a little spaced out.
Molecules in gases are widely spaced out.
We enjoyed being active in our learning outdoors.
We started a rainy day drawing today. We hope to add it to a painting we did last week and turn it into one picture.
Here we are planting some beans. We will need to water them very 3 days and give them plenty of sunlight. They will need to be nurtured and cared for if they are to grow into healthy plants.
We had a lovely surprise when we found the beans. They were stamped with a love heart. So, that cheered us up and made us smile.
We spent some time outdoors testing our water filtration models. We need to make some improvements to our designs and test the models again. We also need to have much more water the next time we test them.
Our next project is to make muddy water clean. Can we rise to the challenge?
