Describing words

Today we chose some of the characters we have met in Roald Dahl’s ,” James and the Giant peach.” We then thought of words to describe them.

We used our words and drawings to help us to write character descriptions.

I wonder what will happen to the peaches?

Roly Poly Birds

P3a have been listening to different books by Roald Dahl. We read The Twits and The Enormous Crocodile. We have been thinking about the characters and how they are described in the stories. We used tissue & paper to create these colourful Roly Poly Birds. The Roly Poly birds featured in both the books we’ve read so far. We are now starting the BFG and we are looking forward to meeting some new characters.

P3b groups

We tried a little bit of Problem Solving today. Our strategy was draw a picture.

We wanted to find out how many people would be in different sized groups.

In our class we have 25 pupils so each time we worked our groups out we had to have 25.

We also used plasticine to represent people and this  helped us to work the problem out.

What am I grateful for ?

We have been learning about what we are grateful for through our virtual whole school assembly.

We are all grateful for different things. Here are some of the things we are grateful for:

  • my house
  • my family
  • my dog
  • my sister/brother
  • my Mum and Dad
  • having good friends to play with
  • my teacher

* What are you grateful for ?

Back to School

Primary 3 classes have settled in well and are doing a great job of following the new procedures in school. We had a fun first week full of lots of ‘getting to know you’ activities. Here we are making our frames for our self portraits 🙂
