Thank you!

Thank you so much to everyone in P3 for the lovely gifts & very generous voucher for Stobo Castle.  We have both really enjoyed this year & are very proud of how hard both classes have worked. We hope you all have a lovely summer holiday!

Picnic fun

Thank you so much to the kitchen staff for these amazing Kingsland festival cupcakes. Don’t they look yummy?

We are looking forward to having our special picnic and playing with our bottle of bubbles.

Ice monsters

We set up an experiment to discover where our ice monsters evaporated the fastest? Would it  be the monster beside the warm radiator or the monster by the window?

Final conclusion – the ice monster melted to water then evaporated the most by the window. So, the sun must be very hot ! There was hardly any water left in our water bag that was by the window.

Munching machines

Our caterpillars are thriving and it has been amazing seeing them growing so quickly.

They are definitely very hungry caterpillars!

They are getting ready to change into chrysalis now – expect the unexpected!

23/06/21 – Ready for a big change! About to make chrysalis now.

April showers bring May flowers

We managed to complete our rainy day pictures this afternoon. They remind us of how wet it was in May.

For the second painting we dabbed blobs of plain water onto our paper then we added the paint to the water blobs. It had a very similar effect to water colour painting.

It was exciting watching the clear water blobs take colour and spread on the paper.

Bee happy !

An exciting way to explore position and movement.

The Beebots helped us to learn how to read coordinates on a grid. We read along the bottom of the grid then up the side.

Our grids were too small for the Beebots so, we moved onto plan B. We quickly drew pictures and placed them underneath the plastic mats.

This worked and we had great fun exploring the grid with the Beebots.

Growing and caring for things

Our beans are being watered carefully but, we have not seen any shoots popping up yet.

We had a live delivery on Monday – of five tiny caterpillars.

We are excited to see the changes as they happen before our eyes. Already they are about 4 times the size they were when we met them!

Our recording sheets are helping us to chart the changes they go through as they grow.
