We all had a super time at our Jubilee Tea Party today. We ate Victoria sponges & played ‘The Queen Says’ then had a bit of a boogie. 🙂

This Is My Life Talks

We have been thinking about birth and early life in class. We would love to hear stories about your life up until p4. Using the sheet sent home today, please talk to your family members and make notes under the headings. Bring your sheet back to class by Monday 6^th June. We will then use your notes to write a talk in class for you to give to your classmates before the end of term. If you have some photos from your early life you would like to share with your classmates during your talk, you can take pictures of them using your ipad.

It was lovely to welcome parents and carers into our classroom today. Here are some photos of the classroom in case you weren’t able to make it today 🙂

We are enjoying our Wonderful Wellbeing sessions. While Mrs Belleville takes us one by one to complete our Wellbeing Wheels, we spend time together. We aren’t allowed to use our iPads during Wellbeing Time so it is a great chance to work on our social skills 🙂

Last week, we learned how to measure things using metre sticks and measuring tapes. We worked really well in our pairs to make accurate measurements

Mrs Edge has been very impressed with our super long jump skills!

P4A had a great time planting our class potatoes today. We even had a wee look at the new polytunnel and were surprised how warm it was inside. Hopefully our potatoes will grow, and we can update you later with the results.

In class, we are working on talking and listening skills.  Starting after the Easter break we are planning to do a block of ‘Show and Tell’ where you can talk about a special object. You have been given a slot to do your short talk in class. The timetable of slots is posted below.

To prepare for this, you should take a photo of your special object on your iPad. The object should not be brought into school.

To help them with their talk, children should consider the following points:

• What is the object?
• Where did you get it?
• What do you do with it?
• Why is it special to you?

You can add more information on your object if they want to. You can practice your talk at home to help with your confidence.

P4a had a brilliant time at the Peebles CAN garden last week.  Heather and Rachel taught us so much about various herbs and plants.  We were asked to plant some peas and a few varieties of hedgerow plants.  We learned how to space them out, how to support them as they got bigger and how to protect them whilst they were still small.

If you would like to keep an eye on the progress of our seedlings and plants, Peebles CAN would be delighted to welcome you back at any time.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Peebles CAN and to our parent helpers.  We wouldn’t have been able to attend the gardens without you offering us  your time.

In P4A we have all had fun celebrating Red Nose Day. We decided to build Lego habitats for our Red Nose creatures. Have a look at how well we are working together to complete the task.  Pics
