Well done Primary 2 on a super year.

I am very proud of how hard you have all worked  and how much you have achieved. I hope you have a fantastic holiday and I look forward to seeing you all back at school in August.

To P3b,

I am very much looking forward to teaching you when you are in Primary 3.

We will have lots of fun creating characters and writing stories about their adventures. We can enjoy reading each other’s stories.

Learning about numbers is exciting and our school grounds are a great place to explore and enjoy numbers in the real world. It is fun to take our Maths outdoors and investigate.

I enjoy doing Art and Drama with the class and making our classroom a bright and colourful place to work in.

One of my favourite books to read when I was at school in P3 was,”The rocking horse secret” by Rumer Godden. What is your favourite book ?

I look forward to meeting you all when you move into Primary 3. We have a lovely upstairs classroom with fantastic views over the treetops. We can see into Haylodge Park. Our classroom is called Haystoun Room.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer holiday and have lots of fun and adventures with your family and friends.

Miss Finlayson

Last Friday Mrs Hobbs came to visit us. She shared her memories of her school days at Kingsland. It was very interesting and we all had lots of questions to ask.

We looked at different pictures of items you would find  in a school long ago. We had to guess what each of the items were used for and think about what we might use today.

We have been learning about what school was like long ago. We have created our own class museum full of interesting objects from the past. We have made our own labels to go with each artefact. 

We have had great fun sharing our favourite books in class this week. 

We had great fun decorating our classroom door. We loved drawing and painting Gerald the giraffe from the book Giraffes Can’t Dance.  We went a tour of the school and enjoyed looking at all the other fantastic World Book Day doors.

We used plasticine to create these beautiful Selkies. 

Selkies were said to be seals that could shed their skins and become human.

This block we are finding out about school long ago. We talked about what we would like to find out.
