Our focus in P7 is currently substance misuse. We have looked at various types of substances including drugs, alcohol and caffeine and have investigated the dangers and effects these have on our bodies. We decided to conduct a science experiment so that we could actually see the effects of alcohol on the human liver.
I understand the effect that a range of substances including tobacco and alcohol can have on the body. HWB 2-38a
We completed science investigation sheets to explain the aim of our experiment.
Here we we are conducting our experiments.
Before we we left the classroom today Mrs McDougall asked us to fill in an exit pass to explain something we learned or were able to take away from the experiment.
Primary 2/3 have been learning a new roll in gymnastics. It’s called a Teddy Bear Roll. They have also been practising other skills during an obstacle course. Mrs Cryans worked with the children in the practise area to help with their rolls. The children had the opportunity to work on other skills they had learned in gymnastics by working on the obstacle course.
Primary 2/3 work safely and responsibly in the gym. They pack up the equipment carefully every week.
Primary 3/4 were learning how to measure classroom objects in milimetres and centimetres. We compared our answers and learned that 1cm = 10mm. Next, we are going to learn how to measure in metres.
This week we were going batty for Morag Hood’s story I Am Bat. We wrote about the food we would share with bat and then made our very own bats. Next week is our last session. Feel free to join in the fun!
The digital leaders from primary 7 came into our class to teach us about sumdog. They helped us find the app on our IPAD and they showed us how to log in.
Sumdog is a fun app that helps us develop our maths skills.
In our homework folders next week you will find our log in details so that we can log in at home and play some fun maths games.
Primary 2/3 have been showing off what they have learned in gymnastics. They can perform their skills using apparatus. This has been challenging. They performed rolls, balances, jumps and poses.
