Last week we welcomed our new class of Spanish Students from our feeder nurseries. We looked at the Spanish Flag and we made our very own Spanish Flags. We even had a go at saying hello and goodbye in Spanish.
Muy Bien!
Today we had a quick introduction to Judo from Jack. We learned how to sit like a Judo player and responded to some Japanese commands. We had a go at some simple moves and ended by playing monkey tig.
Samuel- I liked playing monkey tig, it was so fun.
Aleksander- I liked the mat and we had no socks on.
Arturo- I liked making a pillow for my partner.
Today the p7 and p1 class paired up for some ‘buddy gym.’ We worked together to set up a few different stations- we had a gymnastics station, football station, throwing station and tennis station. The p7s were very good at demonstrating and supporting the p1s, and the p1s worked so well and listened carefully to their helpers.
P7 have asked if we can do this again. We will work in groups to plan really efficient lessons and then will teach these to our buddies.
Primary 1 have been learning about rebound games in P.E. This week we have been working on our throwing and catching skills.

Last week was all about Robert Burns. We learned lots about his life through our reading comprehension task and also through independent research. We used this information to create fantastic biographies about his life. Later in the week, we used Robert Burns’ poems to inspire us with our own poem writing. We rounded off our week by reciting some Burns poems and songs. To hear our performances, check out our SeeSaw profile!
Today we had our Scottish Open Morning and it was a huge success. We invited out families into our classroom and it was a fantastic turn out. We visited a range of Scottish themed work stations such as tartan making and Scottish food tasting. We then moved into the hall and performed our Scottish dance and songs. The feedback was excellent.
