We will look at famous mathematicians using Twig on Glow ‘History of Maths’. Pairs will watch a given video and create a fact file about that mathematician. They should then use the other given websites to research one other famous mathematician and make a fact file on them too.
https://www.twigonglow.com/mindmap/#419/history-of-maths/
In pairs watch two of the 8 videos from ‘Maths in Modern History’ from Twig on Glow. You should summarise it and then get together with another pair who watched the same video to share your summaries. They should agree on the main points before sharing with your Home Team.
Good evening Primary 5! Just a wee heads up if you are in the “Brazil” section of our end-of-term assembly that you will require a summer outfit to wear. Something bright and colourful would be wonderful. Don’t worry if you’re not sure what to wear as we will be discussing it in detail tomorrow during our rehearsal.
Once you have decided on your outfit, please bring it to school in a bag which is clearly labelled with your name and class. Outfits will be kept in school until our assembly next Wednesday.
Mrs O’Neill
A massive thank you to everyone who attended our Open Afternoon yesterday. I hope you all enjoyed visiting our class this afternoon and taking part in all of the activities. The children really enjoyed showing off all their work and demonstrating their knowledge of the Titanic. They have worked very hard this term, as they have all year and should give themselves a huge pat on the back.
Thank you also to those of you who have already completed our feedback survey. It is very much appreciated. If you did not mange to complete it in class we would be very grateful if you could find some time to complete it at home. You can find the link here.
As we have now explained costumes for the assembly, can you please start bringing them in as soon as possible in a plastic bag with your name on it?
Remember the show is next Wednesday at 1.30pm.
Miss Grant and Miss Cauley

Hi
Homework this week is only reading and maths. On Friday, I will be giving your child completed work to take home. It will be in their book bags. These do not need to be brought back to school the following week as there will not be any homework. I would encourage you to continue to read books with your child over the summer holidays. They could sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge at the library!
We will be going to the library on Monday 26th June. Children should return their library books to school before then. As always, we will be asking for parent helpers, leaving school at 1.30pm and returning at approximately 2.30pm.
Please continue to send in Wider Achievement Certificates with your child if they have done something outside of school they wish to celebrate. Certificates can be found on the website under Secret Achievers.
Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions before the end of term!
Best wishes
Mrs Campbell

News
We have started practising for our end of term summer assembly on Wednesday 21st June. A letter will be out this week detailing the arrangements for this assembly. The children will have some words to learn and I posted the 2 songs on this blog if the children would like extra practise at home.
Pupils should also ensure they complete their animal factfile for Monday 19th June. During that week pupils will be given time to present their work to our class. I can’t wait to see the variety of animals chosen.
Have a great week.
Mrs Fulton
In maths this week we have been been continuing with our Data Analysis topic. So far we have looked at frequency and grouped frequency tables and you went to another stage within the school with your survey question. You then recorded this information in a grouped frequency table. Can you tell someone at home the question you and your group decided on?
Next we looked at how to display information in a carroll diagram. I was very impressed at just how quick you picked this up. With your maths partner, you were given a number of 2D shapes which you had to then use to record information in your own carroll diagram. You had to agree on suitable titles to use – how did you do? What titles did you decide on?
Here are our completed carroll diagrams. Please show someone at home your work. Click the link below.
Good afternoon everyone I hope you are enjoying your weekend. I hope you are ready for another busy week which includes our open afternoon! Please continue reading for your homework and reminders.

Any corrections you have from last week should be completed as part of this week’s homework. You should then choose the 6 spelling words you think you can write the best sentences for and write an up-levelled sentence for each of them. This week we are again focusing on using an interesting openers (you can use any type you want this week).

A huge thank you to the two groups of girls (Natalie, Grace, Christie, Tori and Rachel B) who put in a great effort to change the lyrics of modern songs for the P7s to sing at the Leavers’ Assembly.
We have now decided just to sing ‘Go!’, so please learn the words and practise the song.
Go! – original song: Roar by Katy Perry
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPgWXBSwOxE
Go!
I used to suck my thumb and hide away,
Scared to make new friends and go to play.
So I sat quietly, shied away from society.
I guess that I was shy to other kids,
Eventually I grew my confidence.
Now I am stronger, I speak for much longer.
You helped me out, now I succeed, (hey!)
Already going to Parky.
You hear my voice, you hear my sound.
I bet I’m gonna make you proud.
You helped me out, now I succeed,
Get ready ‘cause I’m moving on.
I see it all, I see it now…
I’ve got the eye for Park Mains, our high school.
Dancing through the hallways.
‘Cause I am the champion, and you’re gonna see me go!
Faster, faster than a lion.
‘Cause I am the champion, and you’re gonna see me go,
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
Oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
You’re gonna see me go!
Now I’m floating like a butterfly,
Stinging like a bee I earned my tie.
I went from low oh oh, to my own flow oh oh.
You helped me out, now I succeed,
Already going to Parky.
You hear my voice, you hear my sound.
I bet I am gonna make you proud.
You helped me out now I succeed,
Get ready ‘cause I’m moving on,
You hear my voice, you hear my sound…
I’ve got the eye for Park Mains, our high school.
Dancing through the hallways.
‘Cause I am the champion, and you’re gonna see me go!
Faster, faster than a lion.
‘Cause I am the champion, and you’re gonna see me go,
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
Oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
You’re gonna see me go, Go, Go, Go, Go!
I’ve got the eye for Park Mains, our high school.
Dancing through the hallways.
‘Cause I am the champion, and you’re gonna see me go!
Faster, faster than a lion.
‘Cause I am the champion, and you’re gonna see me go,
And you’re gonna see me go,
And you’re gonna see me go!
