Lost jumper

Hello all,

there is a missing jumper in P3F, the jumper is aged 8-9 years and could have a child’s name on the inside on the tag at the bottom. Please could you check if your child may have accidentally picked up the jumper by mistake.

Thank you very much

Welcome back

Term 4 is here already! I hope you all had a lovely holiday, the children have told me all about the wonderful activities they have been up to.

I have updated the class information page. This is where you will find information about our maths, language and topics for term 4. Our first topic is the body which will also link with our science.  If you have any queries please do not hesitate to get in touch.

As of next week I will be issuing maths homework, this will consist of a table, along one side will be different questions and alone the top will have the days of the week with a number which the children will use to answer the questions.

This is our last term together and I am sure it will be just as fantastic or even better than our previous terms!

P3F Big pedal

Big Pedal continues this week. What a great start it’s been, P3F have  won the daily challenge AGAIN! That’s 3 days in a row now, well done! Hopefully we can continue this winning streak and hold on to the trophy!

We as a school are trying hard to get to the number 1 spot, we have been doing fantastically well as we managed to get to number 1 for Scotland, let’s keep trying hard. This lovely weather is perfect for all the family to get involved. Those extra points might be what makes the difference!

Thanks to all the effort that everyone is making, we can do this!

P3F Maths Bake Off Challenge!

Primary 3 are learning about weight. To help us with our learning we would love to be able to bake something at home which requires us to use measuring scales.

We would like to show our friends and our teachers what amazing bakers we are! Please take a photo of your child using the scales and the finished product. You can upload them to this post by replying or you could print them out and send them to school with your child.

We look forward to showing off our fantastic baking skills and our terrific tasty treats!

Library books

A few days ago I popped into the library to inquire about starting the library visits again. While I was there I was reminded that some books from our class have not been returned.

Could I kindly ask parents to return any library books your child may have as a result of the school visits back to me and I will drop them off at the library next week or before Easter depending on how many I get returned.

thank you very much!

Children’s literacy display

In P3 we have been trying really hard to improve our writing. Using our VCOP (which your children can tell you all about) we created a VCOP display. As the school is trying to become more environmentally friendly the children asked if the new display could be a recycled display. After a few discussions and brain storming we decided on an eco tree. The main part of the tree is from used newspapers, painted using left over paint from different bottles. The children wanted birds on the tree to describe the different section however as we couldn’t think of a way to create them from something old we used parts of the old display rather than wasting them.

I think the children did well to create this lovely display and I can’t wait to fill it up with the children’s work.

P3F maths

For the past few weeks P3F have been learning about money. On Thursday we used our skills to go on a shopping trip in the class. The children had to buy Miss Frew an outfit, they had several tasks which combined the skills they have been learning. Here are some photos.

P3F Nativity

P3F have been trying really hard during all of our rehearsals for the  Christmas nativity. We have a starring role at the beginning of the show. It would be much appreciated if parents could go through the children’s lines with them. These were giving out a few weeks ago to encourage children to practise. This is just a little extra reminder as the show is nearing.

We can’t wait for all the parents to see how fantastic our show is! See you Thursday 15th December.

Library visits

image image image image image image image image

For the past few weeks P3F having been enjoying fortnightly visits to  Bishopton library. While at the library and in school the children have not only been able to choose books to read but learn about books.

In class we have been looking at different types of genres which was then further discussed at the library, as a result the children were able to confidently answer questions and talk to the librarians about types of books. On another occasion the children then learned about  the different stages of production a book goes through, this included some role play too!

We hope to maintain our fortnightly visit to the library after the Christmas holidays. Here are a few photos from the various trips to the library!

P3F homework

Hello P3F parents,
I am sorry that it has taken me so long to use the blog. I am only just getting the hang of it. Just a little message about the spelling homework. As this week is revision of the last few spelling rules the children do not need to create two new words of their own. The children should copy out the words twice and write three sentences using at least one of the spelling words in each of them as usual.
Thank you
