Sweets? I’ve never seen sweets like this before!!

What a busy day we have had!

After break we we were learning about the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha and how caring and sharing is very important. We saw a video clip about a family celebrating and their family and friends brought food to share which looked yummy.

This afternoon we made Wedhmi which is a traditional Eid dish.

First we had to weigh the ingredients.

This is what they looked like when they were baked. They tasted good.

Then we made messy sweets and everyone got a bit messy too! Mrs Macleod was covered in icing sugar! These are some of our messy sweet designs.

We are very creative in Primary 2. See you tomorrow.

Bonjour!

In French/ ICT we were revising greetings. We matched the words with the phrase or word that we heard. We had to listen very carefully, but we managed to do the task well.

The website is Primary French which is very good for practising vocabulary which has already been taught. Au revoir .

We watched videos of different types of Japanese dancing.  We told each other what we thought about them. We spotted what the same and what was different about them.  We matched up pictures and words to describe the different styles of dance.  We even had a little dance ourselves!

Friday 18th September

The end of another week!

Today we were practising counting forwards and backwards and looking at the patterns in the number square while we were doing it. Then we were working out numbers bigger and smaller than others.

These were numbers smaller than our own ages- 2,3,4 and 5.

This afternoon we printed the cover sheets for our jobs and responsibilies work in ICT. Our books are looking great!

I hope that everyone has a great weekend. See you next week.

Thursday 17th September

We were learning about animals. Linsey came from the SSPCA which is an animal charity. We could collect things that would help to save a fox if it was stuck in a hole. Some of us would like a job looking after anim

als. We watched a video about pets. Also, we learnt to catch a snake with a pillow case. A man was looking after the wild animals. If someone is hurting an animal we have to tell an adult to ring the SSPCA.  We must not touch wild animals because they might just be learning their skills to live in the wild.

Wednesday 15th September

We have been busy counting forwards and backwards. Counting backwards is a bit tricky so we will need to keep practising! This afternoon we learnt about Rosh Hashanah which is the Jewish New Year and it is the year 5776AM! People eat apples dipped in honey in the hope of a sweet new year.

HWB
We have been thinking about the jobs and responsibilities we have at home, school and in the community.
*Why not make a chart of your jobs at home and how many times you do them in a fortnight?
*If you see anyone helping in the community, draw a picture of what they were doing.
*We are looking at the feeling of belonging. Do you belong to a club? Why not try joining one if you can?
