Sorry the blog has been a bit quiet the past few days – I promise we have still been very busy!
We read the story While We Can’t Hug – a beautiful story written to help children through the pandemic. After we read the story we tried to create the characters with our Play Doh – take a look!
We have been busy with our maths work too – we played 4 in a row to practice our adding. It got pretty competative!
We have also been counting in 10’s. To do this we climbed a mountain, swam in the sea & ran a race! We were puffed out by the end of it!
We had a great day doing lots of fun things for Children In Need. We made Pudsey masks, kept fit with Joe Wickes, designed a new bandana for Pudsey and used finger paints to make Pudsey’s spots. In the afternoon we went on a Pudsey hunt, made Pudsey wristbands and decorated some biscuits with Pudsey’s spots on them.
A quick reminder that tomorrow is Children in Need Day. The children can come to school dressed in yellow, spots or anything Pudsey related. They do not need to bring any money as the school will be making a donation. The children will get to enjoy some fun Pudsey related activities.
We have been learning all about Remembrance Day. We had a 2 minute silence at 11 o’clock and in the afternoon we made beautiful poppies using collage materials.
Today we learned about why we celebrate Remembrance Day. We spoke about how soldiers were sometimes awarded medals in recognition of their achievements so we decided to award ourselves with a medal for something we were proud of.
If anyone is having problems accessing the books from Active Learn’s Bug Club please look at the main Woodlands blog for information on how to get round this problem.
We had a really fun day to celebrate Halloween today. We went on a Halloween hunt, made scary ghosts, pretended to be skeletons and monsters, made Halloween biscuits and enjoyed a Halloween movie and story.
