Wonderful Wednesday

Primary 2 started the day showing Mr Green their fabulous handwriting and spelling skills. He was very impressed!

Next the boys and girls were in the learning zone.  They told Mr Green all about the skills they were learning and demonstrated how to work together, share resources and take responsibility for tidying up!

After lunch Primary 2 were learning about Global Goals.  They designed superheroes that can help make the goals come true.

Finally a coach from Clyde FC came to take Primary 2 for a football coaching session. We have some fantastic footballers in Primary 2. I might phone the new Scotland manager and arrange a few call ups for the next international match.

Can you write a story using at least 5 of the words above? Challenge – can you use all the words in your story?

Common Reading Words

Practise reading your words in orange from the word wall at the back of your jotter and any words from your word wallet. Do this EVERY night.

Maths

We are learning how to add on from number 9 using a 10 number frame.

We learned 9 + 3  is the same as 10 + 2. This example shows this;

Draw two 10 frames in your jotter and use small objects to help you with these sums (use smarties/coco pops/pennies etc to count with).

Try these sums;

9 + 2 = ¨       9 + 4 = ¨         9 + 3 = ¨

9 + 6 = ¨       9 + 5 = ¨         9 + 1 = ¨

Try this game to help solve problems using maths vocabulary;

Choose ‘Count on and back’ and work through the games. How far can you go?

Primary 2 took the school assembly today and taught everyone all about the tradition of Pancake Day. We sung songs, said a poem and played a pancake game, as well as letting everyone listen to the story of ‘Mr. Wolf’s  Pancakes’.  What a good job they did – well done Primary 2!

8.2.18

We have enjoyed listening and talking about our Scottish research. What a lot of great information we have been finding out about. Thanks to all the parents for their help and support with this. The children loved presenting it to the class too!
