We were travelling in different ways along the apparatus, jumping  onto the mats and rolling or balancing on the mats in the gym today.

We used the clocks today to set them to analogue and digital o’clock times.

Sounds – ‘ow’ (growl, crown, flower)

Spelling – now, down, all.

Handwriting – Qq, Ff, Ss.

Practise small and capitals, completing at least one row of each letter in your jotter. Please ensure the letters start at the correct position, are formed correctly and are the correct size in relation to the lines in the jotter.

We are learning about traditional tales and fairytales as part of our literacy work.

The book we are reading this week is ‘The Enormous Turnip’.  Read the story together (either from a book or on-line) and discuss the events. Focus on the repetition and how the same phrases are repeated throughout the story.

Make up a similar story together orally, changing the characters and things they do repeatedly.  We will be writing a story like this in class so this will allow the children to bring good ideas to share with the others.

We had a great Red Nose Day today. We all dressd n red and some had crazy hair too!

We learned to tell the time today using the clocks. We worked with a partner to set the clock to different o’clock times. We know the big hand points to 12 for o’clock and the little hand tells us the hour.

We read some great books on World Book Day and did some fun activities. Don’t we look great dressed as our favourite characters or ready for a bedtime story?

We programmed the Bee-Bots today to help us with our position work. We had to get them to move forwards, backwards, turn left or right. It was quite tricky!

We are learning about traditional tales and fairytales as part of our literacy work. If you have any books like these at home read them together with your child and talk about what happens in the story. If not why not go on-line and read or watch together.

We have been learning how to travel across the equipment and  on the mats as part of our gymnastics lessons.
