Yesterday we went on a hunt looking for mini beasts. Our magnifying glasses helped us to look closely.

What a fabulous time we all had today enjoying ourselves on a well deserved trip to the park. We had fun playing with our friends and we enjoyed snacks and drinks too. The sun even stayed out for us!

Congratulations to last week’s star pupil and Topdog.

We had a great time today balancing the balloons and running or jumping with them between our legs.

Yesterday we kept fit and healthy by doing some team races as part of our sports week.

On Monday we had some great fun running boys and girls flat races in heats and then we had a final.

Every day next week we will be taking part in different sports activities. The children can come to school wearing jogging bottoms and trainers and the usual school polo shirt and sweatshirt on top. Please bring a bottle of water and outdoor jacket too.

We have worked very hard today on reading, writing and drawing lots of facts and information about lady birds. We’ve made a display of painted ladybirds, the ladybird’s life cycle and information booklets telling all about these wonderful creatures.

Today we took part in our ‘Travel to Tokyo’ challenge. Each day we need to complete our daily mile and move round the world on the map visiting all the countries who have hosted the Olympic Games and eventually arrive at Tokyo. We also enjoyed some circle games and listened to The Bad Tempered Ladybird story then we began to paint our ladybirds. We will finish them tomorrow.

We have been listening to and watching the traditional tale of ‘Little Red Riding Hood’. For our reading task we sequenced the story and in the afternoon we used our pens to do black line drawings of the Big Bad Wolf. Don’t they look great?
