Common Words

Practise reading all the common words from your word list and word wall highlighted in yellow.

Reading

We are learning about re-telling a story by thinking about the main thing that happened at the BEGINNING, MIDDLE and END of the story. Talk about this when you are reading with your child and ask them to re-tell you the story at the end. Make sure it is in order and has all the important event.

Spelling

We will be revising the last two weeks words (then, them, with, see, now, for).

Choose how you want to practise them (waterfall/choo-choo/rainbow/small or capital/sentence writing).

Handwriting

Practise these letters in small and capital letters – bB, hH, kK..

Make sure you are starting at the correct place and forming each letter in the correct direction.

Do a whole row of each letter.

Maths

We are continuing to count on and back in tens. Use your number square, choose a number and count on 10. Where do you land? Start at your first number – count back 10. Where do you land? Do lots of oral work with different numbers before trying some examples like the one in the picture.
