Sounds
This week’s sounds are ‘ou’ (loud, sound etc) and ‘ow’ (owl, down etc). Practise reading the ‘ou’ and ‘ow’ words highlighted in purple at the back of your homework jotter.

Spelling
This week’s words are;
Went, It’s, from.
Use the 5 rules of spelling (LOOK, SAY, COVER, WRITE and CHECK).
Write each word in waterfall writing (use coloured pencils if you like).
Reading
Practise your book every night and ask your child questions to check their understanding.
Literacy/Imaginative Writing
We have been learning to write imaginative fairytales or traditional tales. Read some fairytales to your child each night as a bedtime story so that they become familiar with the stories and the language the author uses. Go on-line and you will find some too.
Common Reading Words
Practise reading your words in purple from the word wall at the back of your jotter and any words from your word wallet. Do this EVERY night.
Handwriting
Practise forming the letters ‘b, h, k, l, m, n, p and r’ correctly. Make sure your child starts at the right place and writes each letter the correct size (tall letters twice as big as small ones and tails below the line.)
