Sounds

This week’s sound is ‘ch’ (chop, church etc). Practise reading the ‘ch’ words stuck at the back of your homework jotter. Can you find any of these words in a reading or story book?

Challenge – how many more ‘ch’ words can you make? Write them in your jotter. Choose some words and write a sentence with them.

Common Words

Practise reading all the common words from your word list and word wall highlighted in pink.

Reading

Practise your book every night.

Practise reading the list of words in your jotter that are highlighted in pink or in your word wallet. Can you find these words in a storybook you are reading?

Spelling

This week’s words are;

then, them, with.

Practise writing each word 3 times remembering to LOOK, SAY, COVER, WRITE and CHECK you are right. Can you write a sentence using each word? Remember a capital at the beginning and a full stop at the end.

Handwriting

Practise these letters in small and capital letters – aA, cC, dD, gG.

Make sure you are starting at the correct place and forming each letter in the correct direction.

Do a whole row of each letter.

Maths

We are learning to count up and down to 20 in 2’s and up and down to 100 in 10’s. Use your number square to find each number and practise saying them aloud every night to get quicker. Write them in your jotter.

Keep your number square in your homework folder to use every week for your maths work.

We have also been learning the number names from 11 to 20. Cut up the numbers and number names on your worksheet. Mix them up and turn them face down. Turn them over and try to read and match each number with its name. Stick the matching numbers and names in your jotter.
