We are learning about the odd and even numbers up to 10 and if we are good we will learn them up to 20. Can you tell someone all about which numbers are odd and which ones are even?

Sounds

This week’s sound is ‘sh’ (shop, wish etc). Practise reading the ‘sh’ words stuck at the back of your homework jotter. Can you find any of these words in a reading or story book?

Challenge – how many more ‘sh’ words can you make? Write them in your jotter. Choose some words and write a sentence with them.

We are learning about ‘odd’ and ‘even’ numbers up to 20. Practise saying the odd/even numbers aloud. Write them going up to 20 in your jotter.

We had a visit from the RSSPCA to tell us about the great work they do to rescue animals.  Alex told us all about his job and showed us a video of some animals that had been rescued. Then we got to ask any questions.

Maths

We will be learning about the number names up to 10 (one, two, three etc.) Complete the worksheet and stick it in your jotter. We will also be learning about the order names to 10 (1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd etc). Draw a picture of a race and label who is 1^st,2^nd, 3^rd etc all the way up to 10^th place. Congratulations to a proud boy for being the ‘player of the week’ at his football club and winning a trophy.

What a great day we had last Friday for our ‘Eco Day’.  We made insect headbands to remind us how important they are for our environment.

We used oil pastels today in our art work to make pictures of Hamish the cat.

Today we used the Computers to help us to count up and down in tens.

Hallowe’en

Design your costume for Hallowe’en. Draw it and write the name of your costume underneath it.

We made iced sea biscuits and then we wrote a story about what we did.
