We were entertained by some wonderful acts at the Woodlands Got Talent Show today,  especially form our very own act, The Jokers.  You had us all laughing and giggling with your quick and witty jokes.

Today we did a lot of different activities to help us learn about our sound ‘ue’.

We played number games today to help us find the add and take away sums that are related.

We got to hear more presentations today on Scottish Food and Drink and Robert Burns.  What a lot of hard work has gone into this task.  Keep up the good work!

Primary 5/6 organised a golf tournament for our class to take part in.  They made up the games, taught us how to play them and recorded our scores.  What a great time we all had!

Sounds

This week’s sound is ‘ue’ (blue, glue, true etc). Try these activities;

• complete the ‘ue’ worksheet and stick it in your jotter

• draw ‘ue’ pictures and write the word below it.

• Read the list of ‘ue’ words each night to become fluent.

In the afternoon we got to learn more about Irn Bru and Robert Burns when we listened to more presentations from two very confident children.

What a wonderful assembly Primary 2 put on for the whole school!  We all enjoyed Scottish poems, songs, games and dancing as well as listening to clear confident speakers who introduced each item.  Well done Primary 2 for all your hard work and thanks to the parents too for supporting the children in learning their poem and lines to say.

Well done to a proud girl for being ‘star of the week’ at her dancing club.

We all enjoyed listening to some more presentations today on our Scottish theme.

Remember tomorrow, Friday 3rd February is our Scottish Assembly. If the children have anything tartan they may wear it to school.  Otherwise uniform as normal and we have tartan sashes the children could put on in class.

Everyone enjoyed listening to a super presentation on The Loch Ness Monster.  We’re finding out lots about it!
