Literacy

  1. Spelling – Think of a move and spell out the letters of each word while you are moving. Here are some ideas for moves.

2.  Let’s write out some instructions for a game.

Here is information about a game of cards called Rummy.

Handy Hints

  •   We know that instructions have to be very clear
  •   Subheadings for information
  •   Use numbered steps
  •   Use imperative “bossy” verbs like take, put, deal, etc.

Numeracy

  1. Starter for 10 minutes on Sumdog  – let’s make a skill level change this week!

2.  Let’s stay with data handling and use these skills to find out information from labels.

Date and I can use food label information to make healthy choices

Use the information on the labels to answer these questions carefully.

3.  Traffic light and comment on how well you were able to find and use the information to answer questions.

Extra

Being physically fit helps your overall wellbeing, so here is an activity which you can keep working at to improve your physical strength, speed and stamina. Pick just a few to do each day and then try your 2nd and 3rd attempts at intervals across a week – don’t try to do it all at once and remember to warm up and stretch before you start!!

Being active and healthy is helped by having enough sleep 😴. For 8 to ten year olds you should be getting about 10 hours sleep each night in order for your body and mind to recharge. The game below shows you things to avoid in order to get a good night’s sleep.

We started with a panda and we’re ending with pandas. I hope that you have a great night’s sleep and lovely sweet dreams. Have a look at one of Mrs McMillan’s relaxation videos on Take a Moment – found on the school blog, they might help you to sleep, too!
