Number

We have been learning about finding the nearest 10 and nearest 100.   Please try to find 10 numbers around you ( telephone number, car registration, house number, etc) and note them down in your homework jotter.  Beside them write the nearest ten and nearest hundred.  If you really want to challenge yourself, try the nearest thousand too!!

Remember our strategy :  circle the ten if you’re looking for nearest ten, circle the hundred digit if you’re looking for nearest hundred.  Then underline the digit to the right. Then say our rule:

1,2,3 and 4 go down to the one before.

5,6,7,8, and 9 go up to the next in line.

vendredi le treize octobre

Today was Eco Active Day and it was great because we did lots of activities to make a clean  environment.  It was a fun day because we did experiments to clean water, collected leaves, made mini beast headbands, went on an Eco walk, played re-cycling games and designed an energy superhero. Take a look at some photos:

Look at the school blog to see photos of other activities!

Have a great week everyone and take care.

jeudi le douze octobre

We have been using our interactive number wall to explore place value.

Remember that it is the Eco day tomorrow. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing , suitable jackets and wellies ( if you have them)! You can wear joggies, waterproof trousers etc – any things that will help to keep you as dry and comfortable as possible throughout the day.

Homework 10.10.17 – 23.10.17

This week we are practising the fifth row of our wall. I will check the words on Thursday.

You have the Road Safety leaflet to complete and hand in by the end of the week.

For the holiday week, why not go on a lovely autumn nature walk, collect conkers and colourful leaves?

Why not make something warm for you and your family to eat? Look out a recipe in a book or online and have fun in the kitchen.

Find a cosy place to relax and read a book.

Beware, Vikings!!!!

We had a fabulous Viking day in P4 today.  We made Viking bread and ate it while it was lovely and hot, with mixed berries and homemade butter.  We also made a great start on our Viking weapons.  We will have to let them dry before we stick them together and add details.  Next week we will be creating some Viking-inspired jewellery.
