In our reading lesson today, we were revising non-fiction text features and using books about climate zones to create our own fact sheets.

Climate Zone Presentations
I enjoyed all the presentations and I liked doing my an presentation – Rory.
I was quite shy at first but then I became more confident – Noah
I was nervous this morning before coming to school but when it was my turn I felt fine and I enjoyed doing my presentation – Ella
I was feeling nervous and when I went up I felt more confident and I would like to do another presentation.- Sophia
It was a wee bit scary when it was my turn, but when I went up I felt like everyone was watching me and I was nervous. When I started , I just forgot the others watching and I used a clear voice and shared my climate zone information and I feel proud- Roban
We have had a great time listening to all the Climate Zone presentations and looking at the different models. Well done, everyone!
I have just put some new Sumdog activities for maths, reading and spelling on our sites. Please check them out as they will be a useful practice for our learning this week.
Just a reminder that we will all be involved in the Climate zone presentations this week. I am hoping to listen to them on Tuesday (26th March), but if you want to bring in your work tomorrow, then we will put it somewhere safe! This week we have been busy learning how to tell the difference between a fact and an opinion. We can check and prove facts but an opinion is something you think, believe or feel to be true.
We have been learning how to multiply in different ways. The first photo shows multiplying using a partition grid, the next photo shows us being active while practising our times tables using bbc/sport/supermovers. The last 2 photos are Maths Masterpieces which we can create if we have the answers to our multiplications correct.
Today Primary 4 had an introduction to 3 D gaming. They created a world and programmed a character to move around in it.
Comic Relief- Red Nose Day 2019.
Today we have been learning about how our money can help people in our own country and other countries around the world. Our activities included : a nose hunt, nose art, decorating noses, dancing and finding out about hunger for many in Sierra Leone.
These healthy foods are cultivated in Sierra Leone but a huge amount of people are malnourished. Red Nose organisations help to get the good food to where it is needed, so that people do not have to exist on just rice. By raising money today, we are helping children in Sierra Leone to have access to UNCRC Article 24- The Right to nutritious food.
Climate Zone Presentation week beginning 25/3/19
In 2 weeks you will have the opportunity to present your climate zone presentation. This piece of work covers 3 activities from your homework sheet and talking and listening skills.
1. Find a newspaper article about how our climate zones are being damaged and bring the article in to add to our display.
2. Research information about 1 of the climate zones and use ICT skills to present your information.
3. IDL Start collecting any junk materials ready to make a model of the climate zone of your choice!!! The climate zones are: arctic, temperate, desert and rainforest.
When making a model, think about the colours of the zone, plants, animals, weather and houses to give you some ideas!
You can put the different pieces of homework together for your presentation.
Presentation criteria
For a successful presentation you need to:
· Have your homework – model and information
· Be well prepared and know what you are talking about
· Make the presentation interesting and entertaining
· Speak in a clear voice
· Make eye contact with the audience
· Be prepared to ask and answer questions

World Book Day
We had fun today. We had 4 activities linked to our class novel – The Twits. We played Twit or Miss on the I-pads, created new book covers, made a disgusting beard for Mr Twit and designed an adjective wheel about important ideas in the story.
Here we all are at the end of the day!
Today is Mardi Gras which means Fat Tuesday. It is the day before Ash Wednesday which is the beginning of Lent. We learnt that the tradition of Mardi Gras goes back hundreds of years and explorers and settlers took the tradition worldwide.
One of the biggest Mardi Gras celebrations happens in New Orleans. We saw a King cake being made, costumes and floats being prepared and people having special masked balls.
As you can see we created our own Mardi Gras masks. They include the colours violet ( purple for justice), l’or ( gold for power) and vert (green for faith).
