There is access to ebooks and other activities to help you maintain and make progress in your reading skills.

Please complete the literacy and numeracy lessons in your jotter.

Here is your literacy lesson for today. The focus is spelling, the knowledge of spelling patterns and alphabetical order. All of the tasks are revision of learning already taught.

Write the correct spellings for the pictures in your jotter.

Make sure that you look at the examples carefully before starting each activity and think carefully about what you already know.

A  Add oil or oy to complete the words.

B Write the words that have been joined to make the contractions.

C Add ed or d to these words.

D Make four compound words using the words in the box.

Extension- notes

B You may need to make double letters for some of the words- check whether the word looks correct when you write it.

D  For alphabetical order you need to go to the second letter.

Here is today’s numeracy lesson. Let’s start off with some mental maths.

For your main task, we will revise place value by ordering the following sets of numbers. Remember to check the number of digits before you start, then look carefully at the value of each number in the same place column eg  75634   and  76534    6000 is bigger than 5000 so 76534 is bigger than 75634.

Finish off with an interactive game from http://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/7-11years/place-value

Have a lovely day and remember that Joe Wicks is doing fitness on his YouTube from 9am!

    1. I have just got into the site, make sure you check whether you are using capital letters and pacs correctly. I have not assigned a specific book, as I want the children to explore the site to start off with. Please let me know if you can access the site. Many thanks

  2. Thanks Mrs McLeod, this has been really helpful. I was worried about Sophia’s rainbow reading but she has been on Oxford owl this morning, it’s a great site.
