This afternoon after working so hard on our similes and metaphors then our rangoli patterns, we had great fun eating from the Witch’s Washing Line. Β Some children managed to bite their donut in one clean bite!!

Thriller Writing
This morning we planned then wrote our very own thriller stories about two children getting lost in the woods and they find something or overhear something that leads them to danger…
The children thought it was hard but great fun writing their very first thrillers. Β They are looking forward to writing another thriller next week.
The Human Ear
This morning we completed a reading comprehension on the Human Ear. Β We were encouraged to skim and scan the passage and diagram quickly to get the Β main ideas then we read the text again more slowly.
This afternoon we labelled a diagram of the ear. Β We had to label our diagram to explain the different parts of our ear.

How Sound Travels
This afternoon we looked at how Sound travels. Β We found out that Sound travel best through a solid because the particles are closest together, then through a liquid and travels least of all through the air. Β Β Children acted out as the particles in a solid, liquid and gas.

Write these lists out using commas and colons where appropriate.
- Robert got his bat and ball. He put it in his bag along with his trainers and his shorts and his T-shirt.

This afternoon we were given a new French name and age. Β We then met other new French children and asked them their name, how to spell it and their age. Altogether we met with four pretend French children.
Remember:
- PE kits tomorrow- slight change to the timetable just for this week.
- Anyone who hasn’t brought their homework in for Miss Ferguson must bring it tomorrow.
- Anyone who has brought back their target jotter, bring it in tomorrow to get a house point.

ICT – Power Point Presentations
This morning in ICT we continued to work on our power point presentations on the Five Pillars of Islam. Β Our PowerPoints will be used to demonstrate all we have learned about the Five Pillars of Islam. Β Our success criteria was:
- front page with title, image and names of authors,
- introducation to the five pillars
- a page each on Shahadah, Salah, Zakah, Sawm and Hajj with explanation and image
- a quiz for the person reading the presentation.
Don’t forget: big tables test tomorrow. Practise, practise, practise!!!!!
