Literacy:  Revision of commas in a list and using a colon to introduce a list.

Write these lists out using commas and colons where appropriate.

  1. Robert got his bat and ball. He put it in his bag along with his trainers and his shorts and his T-shirt.
  2. Susan tidied up the garden. She put the rake and the spade and the hose in the shed. She put the wheelbarrow and the bike and the pool in the garage.
  3. Joe loved to go to the park with his friends Tanya and Jason and Fiona and Colin.
  4. The dinner ladies make delicious meal like pizza and spag bol and chicken tikka wraps and curry and macaroni.
  5. For his birthday, Callum got new football boots and a jumper and a computer game and a box of celebration chocolates.
  6. The teachers were very good at the hoola-hoop especially Mrs McMillan and Mrs Tagg and Miss Park and Miss Donald.

 

Maths:  Rounding to the nearest 10

Now try this:

Roll two dice and make a two digit number

For example: 63.

Round the number to the nearest 10 and repeat.

Round the number to the nearest 10 and repeat.

 

French:

Research 5 French boys’ names and 5 French girls’ name.  Give each child an age.  Practise spelling out the French names and saying the child’s age in French.  Use the French alphabet sheet to help you but remember to bring it back to school.
