Monday 31st August

This morning we read Chapter 5 of our class novel, Stig of the Dump. We met ย the Snargots. ย It was difficult to read this chapter because the Snargots spoke in non-standard English. We rewrote sentences into Standard English. ย Then we had part of our maths lesson outdoors.

Outdoor Physical Education

Primary 6/7 will be taking part in a 4 week block of outdoor physical education every Friday from Friday 28th August. For this block of outdoor PE children will be asked to attend school on this day wearing a waterproof jacket, plain black or grey jogging bottoms, a school polo shirt and a school jumper.

Shared Reading

The school has a new reading programme called โ€œBug Clubโ€.

Today Iโ€™ve allocated the book weโ€™re using in class. ย This eek’s book is called โ€œUnder ย my Feet.โ€

To access Bug Club,ย  go to login page at Active Learn

use your login and passwordsย ( we went over these of Friday).ย  The school code is 6kwa.ย  Any problems, post a comment at the top of this page and I’ll get back to you.

Outdoor Maths

This morning, near the end of our maths lesson, we went outside. We ย had to explain to each other what we had learnt in our place value lesson and make up questions to test our understanding of todayโ€™s lesson.

A Great Start to the Week ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿค—

Today we started to think about Place Value and we created a poster to illustrate all the things we could remember from before. ย Atย the beginning, we only had a few ideas but by the end our posters were almost full.

For now, we donโ€™t get out to play at lunchtime but straight after lunch , we go out for the Daily Mile. ย Unless the weather is really, really bad, we will go out so make sure you bring a jacket with a hood to school.
