Donald Where’s Your Troosers??

All week we have been practising our song and dance for the Scottish Assembly. We had great fun learning the words and coming up with different dance moves for our performance of ‘Donald Where’s Your Troosers??’

We were very nervous on the lead up to our big moment but when we got up on stage all our nerves were gone and we were fantastic…so fantastic that we even won first place!!

Well done to everyone for your fantastic performance, you were great! 😀

Back to School!

“Since we returned to school we have been very busy with our new topic about Scotland. We have made our very own personalised tartan designs and we are excited to learn about Robert Burns and his work.” – Darby

“This week we got our new reading books. I enjoyed describing Hilda Hardbottom, a character from my book. I even got sent to Mrs Hunter with great work and won a chance to go to the Tea Party!!” – Nicole

“I have enjoyed creating symmetrical patterns. My favourite part was colouring the patterns with two lines of symmetry.” – Xander

“We have chosen to learn about Scottish foods and Scottish animals. I am looking forward to tasting some traditional Scottish foods.” – Caiden

“Our new Maths topic is Multiplication. We are looking at the 2, 3, 4, 5 and 10 times tables. So far I am enjoying it and can’t wait for a challenge to make me think really hard!” – Anthony

Primary 4/5,

Thank you all so much for all your hard work this term! It’s been very busy with our amazing Enterprise and our fantastic show performances but we have had an extremely successful term!! 😀

Unfortunately, Eva D is leaving our class to join a new school. She is really sad but excited to be joining a new school. We will keep in touch with you Eva – good luck!!

Have a wonderful Christmas and I hope Santa is good to you all!

Thank you all so much for the lovely gifts, you have been very generous and I can’t wait to open them all on Christmas morning!

Introducing…

For our Christmas Enterprise, Primary 4/5 will be designing and creating word cloud picture frames. Our fabulous company name was created by Aidan and our beautiful company logo was designed by Nicole.

Word Cloud Frames

We can personalise these so they can be given out as Christmas gifts. Names, colours, borders and shapes can all be personalised to make it very unique, all you have to do is choose your options on our order form.

Tomorrow, we will distribute order forms to Primary 4/5 only . Order forms should be completed and returned to school on Tuesday 17th November – order your frames fast before it is too late!

These frames cost only £8, we are the cheapest in town so get ordering!!

We will also have a spectacular stall at the Christmas Fayre on Saturday 28th November, where you can buy some pre-made frames, however, these will not be personalised.

Kandinsky

Today we were mixing colours with black and white to get different tones of colour.

3D Robots

Today we painted our robots and now they are really coming to life! All we have to do now is paint on their features and details.

Paper Mache Robots

Today we had great fun using paper mache to make our 3D robots strong and sturdy.

“I loved doing the paper mache because it was fun and messy – afterwards my hands were very sticky!” – Kayleigh

“Today I enjoyed getting messy! The dried glue was peeling off my hands. I enjoyed making my robot stronger.” – Briony

“The paper mache was very fun. I liked sticking the paper on my robot.” – Alfie

Hopefully, tomorrow all the paper mache has dried. We will be painting on Wednesday as the Primary 5’s are out at swimming tomorrow and we don’t want them to miss out. Check our blog on Wednesday to see our robots coming to life!

Next week we are looking forward to using paper mache to make our 3D robots strong and sturdy. After that, we will paint the robots using special metallic paint – we can’t wait!

Poetry

Today we have been learning how to write limerick poems. We wrote a poem about Rex, a dinosaur in our class. It is very silly and we had good fun thinking of rhymes.

3D Robots

3D Robot Junk Modelling

Today we started to create some 3D robots using junk materials we collected from home. We used different 3D shapes for the head, body, arms and legs. We used masking tape to stick all the parts together and tomorrow we will use paper mache to make our robots stronger! We had a great time creating our robots, have a look at the pictures below!
