Painting Our Volcanoes
On Thursday we mixed different paints to paint our volcanoes. We used brown, black and green for the base then we used red, orange and yellow for the lava.

Today we created 3D volcanoes using paper mache. First of all we dipped the paper into the glue and then stuck it onto the wire of our volcano.
We continued doing this until we had 2-3 layers. Then we gave a final coating using PVA glue. We need to leave them now for 24 hours to let them harden.

We have had lots of fun researching information about volcanoes. We mixed different colours to paint volcanic eruption pictures.
This week we will begin our Technology project, where we are designing and creating our own volcanoes. We can’t wait to get started! Check back soon to see how we are getting on.
On Friday, we had a fantastic day taking part in lots of  different activities. To begin with we started off at the Micro Fitness, where we got to try lots of new equipment like spin bikes, treadmills, cross trainers and rowing machines. It was great fun but hard work too!
After the Micro Fitness we went to the disco. The music was great and we had a fabulous time dancing with everyone!
Our next activity was the bouncy castle. We all had a fantastic time jumping about!
After break, we visited the potted sports area where we took part in football shootout, hockey dribble, basketball shootout and beanbag throw. We all  tried really hard to earn some points for our house!
After the potted sports, we took part in some football training activities led by a coach from Colts F.C. We all enjoyed learning some new skills!
In the afternoon we took part in orienteering. We worked in a group to find clues and come up with a secret message. We all had great fun trying to find the clues and solve the code!Â
Finally, we took part in a scavenger hunt to find a variety of things in the Nature Garden. We enjoyed exploring outside and had fun trying to find a four leaf clover!!
We are now on our way back from a very busy day in Edinburgh! We have all had a fabulous time and the sun was shining all the way through!Â
Now to have a wee snooze on the bus on the way home!Â
We have arrived on our Greyfriars Bobby Tour! We are learning lots of new facts from our tour guide James Douglas! We even got to see the grave and statue of Greyfriars Bobby!Â
It’s finally here! We are on our way to Edinburgh, we are so excited and cannot wait to get there!!
