Today we have been learning how to write limerick poems. We wrote a poem about Rex, a dinosaur in our class. It is very silly and we had good fun thinking of rhymes.
We are now writing our own limericks about robots.
“I enjoyed thinking of rhymes and thinking of silly sentences!” – Darby

Today we started to create some 3D robots using junk materials we collected from home. We used different 3D shapes for the head, body, arms and legs. We used masking tape to stick all the parts together and tomorrow we will use paper mache to make our robots stronger! We had a great time creating our robots, have a look at the pictures below!
We used adjectives to write some acrostic poems about volcanoes. We had great fun thinking of different words to describe sights, sounds and feelings associated with volcanoes. Have a look at some of our poems below. We hope you enjoy reading them 😀
Today we mixed vinegar, washing up liquid, water and red food colouring. We then added this to some bicarbonate of soda inside our volcanoes and there was a big eruption when all the chemicals mixed.
“The eruption was the best and coolest thing in the world!” – Iona
“I thought it was very cool!” – Kayleigh
“I mixed the bicarbonate of soda into the mix and it made the volcano overload with foam.” – Kieran
Have a look at our erupting volcano videos! 😀 (Videos will only play on a computer)
On Thursday we mixed different paints to paint our volcanoes. We used brown, black and green for the base then we used red, orange and yellow for the lava.
“Our volcano looked really cool when it had dried.” – Nicole
“After the volcanoes dried they all looked very realistic!” – Ryan
“We had an excellent time making our volcano models, it was fun!” – Caiden
