Red weather warning for Storm Eowyn – Friday 24 January 2025 – School Closures

A Red weather warning has been issued for Friday 24 January 2025, between 10am and 5pm as Storm Éowyn is expected to bring very strong winds and widespread disruption.

The Council has taken the decision to close all schools and education establishments including early learning facilities on Friday 24 January.

We understand the impact this may have on parents and carers, however the safety of people is paramount. No school transport or breakfast clubs will run.

We will provide updates on the impact on other services through the normal Council social media channels and the website here: northlanarkshire.gov.uk/weather

As always, we would like to remind you that learning resources are available via NLC’s Virtual Classroom for P1-S3 pupils, and eSgoil and Scholar are available for senior phase pupils.

Due to the holidays there will be a change to the school lunch menu this week:

Tuesday 7th January
Red – Chicken Curry
Green – Vegetable Curry
All other menu items remain the same

Wednesday 8th January
Red – Spaghetti Bolognese
Green – Tomato Pasta
All other menu items remain the same

Due to Angela’s absence Breakfast Club will start at 8.30am on Friday 20th December 2024 and Monday 6th January 2025

School and Nursery will close at 2.30pm on Friday 20th December for the Christmas break.

Children who attain the age of 5 years between 1 March 2025 and 28 February 2026 should be registered for education during the week commencing Monday 15 January 2024.

Applications for the 2023-2024 nursery session are now open.  Application forms can be accessed online using the link below.  These should be emailed to your first choice provider along with the supporting paperwork (birth certificate and proof of address). 

Application forms can also be collected from the school if you would prefer, please pop into the office to collect one.  These should also be returned to your first choice provider along with the supporting paperwork.  The closing date for applications is Friday 10th March 2023, applications received after this date will be treated as a late application.
