CUMBERNAULD ACADEMY TIES
Cumbernauld Academy are currently experiencing some difficulties buying school ties as the fabric is out of stock. Unfortunately, it’s unlikely they’ll have these available before the end of term. They’re hoping to receive them over the summer and will contact parents as soon as they arrive so you can collect them from the school.
Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
REPORTS CARDS
Our Clerical Team have been working hard over the last couple of weeks to complete all end of session reports ready for distribution today. We hope you enjoy reading about your child’s successes and achievements across the year.
This year we are also able to include classes for next session alongside the report; however, this information is still subject to change as we await our final staffing confirmation from North Lanarkshire Council.
Teaching staff have been working together to plan class configurations to ensure a smooth transition for your child as they move on to their next year group after the holidays. I am sure you will appreciate that this is a challenging task for the staff and takes considerable thought and time due to its importance.
This session our school roll has dropped, which means our staffing allocation has also dropped. However, we have taken the decision to keep our current arrangement of ten classes with the aim of smaller class sizes, this does mean there are a number of composite classes, as has been the case for several years.
Classes are made up taking many factors into account, including academic groupings for literacy and numeracy, we also try to take into consideration social groupings with peers – however, this is not always possible, as I am sure you can understand. You will also appreciate that often it is beneficial for children to create wider friendship groups as they move through the school and on to high school.
Thank you for your continued support.
Have a lovely weekend,

SPORTS DAY UPDATE
Due to a risk assessment carried out this morning, the pitch has been deemed unsafe. The surface is waterlogged, with further rain forecast, making conditions too dangerous to proceed with our flat races. This afternoon is therefore cancelled. Children will still participate in other indoor activities but parents are not able to attend. We apologise for any inconvenience or disappointment.
SCHOOL APP UPDATE
The company who facilitate our school app are ceasing business and the app will close on 31st July 2026. We are currently working on finding a suitable alternative and will provide details of this on the second inset day via email.
