Christmas in P3/4

The boys and girls in Primary 3/4 have been learning all about the features of Christmas this week.  Each morning when they open their class Advent Calendar, the children have been performing acts of kindness as well as enjoying a delicious sweet. They have been helping in and around the school by offering to tidy out their class.  On Tuesday, the boys and girls visited the nursery to showcase their learning.  This involved them presenting their Christmas poetry in a way that is engaging for the nursery children.

Today’s learning experience involved the children using a range of media to create Christmas Crackers.  The children have also made Angels and researched the symbolism of Angels in the Nativity story.

Nursery Christmas Party

All the boys and girls came into nursery looking very smart in their party clothes today. When they came in, our elf; Chippy, had been eating our party sweets and taking ‘elfies’ on the iPad. He even left us a note to take some ‘eflies’. The children enjoyed taking ‘eflies’ and even got some on the staff to take ‘elfies’ with them. We all then went into the hall and danced lots and showed off our super dance moves. All that dancing was hard work, so we had a rest with some yummy snack and ice cream! Then a special visitor came….

Nursery Christmas Party!

The nursery boys and girls had a wonderful time at their Christmas parties on Wednesday. The children had lots of fun playing pass the parcel, musical bumps and dancing. The boys and girls enjoyed showing everyone their fantastic dance moves! After all the dancing and games, the boys and girls then had a yummy party snack. After the children had a little rest to enjoy their snack,  we went back into the hall and met a very special visitor dressed in red!

Christmas at Nursery

The boys and girls have had a busy and fun filled week at nursery. They have been very busy looking through the catalogues, then using the scissors and glue to make wish lists to send off to Santa, we are now patiently waiting on our replies 🙂 They have been creative in the messy area, using scissors, glitter and glue to make snowflakes and Christmas baubles. All the boys and girls have been excited to come to nursery everyday to see what ‘Snowflake’ our Elf has been up to, she has been playing with our toys, wrapping our christmas tree in toilet roll and eating our sweeties for our party. The boys and girls have been very kind and brought cards into nursery for their friends, they got to post them in our postbox and sort them out into groups, putting the nursery stamp on them. On Friday morning the boys and girls were very lucky and got to visit Rosehall Care Home, they sang some lovely Scottish and Christmas songs to the residents, they then gave us a treat of chocolate and juice.
