Information Handling

Hi Everyone! We have been very busy over the last two weeks.

In Maths we have been working on Information Handling and learning about ways to gather information and how information can be displayed in different ways. We have been looking at pictographs, Carroll diagrams and block graphs. We enjoyed finding out what the most popular fairytale we have read in class is.We made a block graph to display our findings and the most popular is, The 3 Little Pigs!

In Numeracy we have been continuing to build on our number stories; ‘ways to make…’ This week we investigated ways to make 7. We have also been learning a new strategy  to complete our addition sums, we have been investigating how to use a number line. Here are some pictures of us giving it a go.

We are also continuing with the strategy of using materials to build the number stories.

We are really enjoying  our Fairyland topic and this week we read The 3 Billy Goats Gruff. We also got a special delivery from the Dragon, we now have our very own baby dragon called Dan to take care of. Some children have already taken him home and introduced him to their family. They have written a brilliant diary entry of their time with Dan and even added some photographs to show their classmates the adventures they have had with Dan. Everyone is very excited for their turn!

One last picture before we go. We thought you would like to see how much our beanstalks have grown in the last few weeks. We are wondering if they will touch the roof before the next holiday? 😁

Have a great holiday weekend.
