Mary Queen of Scots

Topic : We will be investigating the life of Mary Queen of Scots and discovering how events in the past have shaped Scottish society.

Maths : The children have been learning how to use their knowledge of multiplication and division to create a set of multiples and find common multiples between tables.  They have been making ‘factor bugs’ to help them understand factors and factor pairs.  We have also been continuing to practise addition and subtraction with ‘carrying’ and ‘borrowing’.

Literacy : The children have been gaining reading skills by  making notes and and organising them under suitable headings to create their own leaflets.  We are learning to write detailed information reports about life in Tudor Times, using appropriate subheadings.

Lent : Children have reflected on scriptures to show us the importance of friendship and forgiveness.  We have been thinking of people in need and have been bringing in donations for our class SCIAF box. Children are encouraged to attend the Lenten weekday morning Mass at 8.15.

Finally! We are all very excited about our Class Trip on Monday 18th to Dynamic Earth. Please wear school uniform and bring no more than five pounds for the shop.
