This week we created some Post Cards as part of our summarising task in Literacy, we are almost finished our current novels and look forward to finding out what our next book will be.

In Story Writing we have continued to write explanations. We have also been using different Peer Assessement strategies, focusing  on the Core Targets.

In Maths we have been learning more about factors! We created some factor bugs 🐛

We considered the things we already know about Mary Queen of Scots and what we would like to learn or know more about.

In PE we have completed different tasks working on our skills at moving carefully through objects and volley ball.

We were sad when we finished reading our class novel ‘Wonder.’ We were studying this as part of our Health and Wellbeing Topic. Then came one of the highlights from the last few weeks when we watched the movie in class. We all really enjoyed it, Miss Fitzgerald included 🙂

We discussed Shrove Tuesday and the history behind it. We enjoyed eating some pancakes too.

We also completed a Maths Mystery Game for Pancake Tuesday. We had to use some of our recently learned skills to uncover who was responsible for sabotaging a perfect pancake competition. There were many suspects but in the end only one culprit…Sara Salt!

Last week we led the Mass on Ash Wednesday, it was a really special time of prayer. We enjoyed leading the singing. We have been considering what temptations are and how we can show self control during Lent just as Jesus was tempted in the desert for 40 days and nights. We also looked at the main Pillars of Lent: Prayer, Fasting and Alsmgiving.

 

Remember Morning Mass is at 8:15am every week day during Lent, it’s great way to start your day.

We’re looking forward to attending Dynamic Earth on Monday.

We will be presenting Solo Talks on the week beginning the 25th March, information went home about it this week.
