Literacy: We have started a new novel called ‘War Horse’ written by Michael Morpurgo which is about a horse who is sent into war in WWI. We are really enjoying the book so far but it is sad sometimes. For storywriting we wrote a newspaper article about the ‘Outbreak of WWII’. We used our research and facts to write this recount.
Well done to our star writers :
Mrs Thomspon from the English Department in St Maurice’s came to work with us. We completed a close reading task about WWII.
Numeracy and Maths: In maths we have began learning about decimals, especially tenths. We have learned how to add decimal numbers and find the missing decimal number.
We did symmetry, transition, reflective and rotational. We have now moved on to looking at measure, specifically area using the formula A = length x breadth e.g. A = 3 x 5 = 15cm2
Modern Languages: In Italian this week we learned about words to describe ourselves
e.g. Sono magro/magra means I’m thin. Ho I capelli corti means I’ve got short hair.
Hope to see you at our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 1st December from 10am-1pm.
