Advent Awaits

We’re already at the end of November with Advent beginning tomorrow. This week in Literacy our focus in Reading was ‘Inference’ we have been thinking about what the author means through different quotes and phrases that we find in our books. We have shown our understanding of what we have read through our answers. We are really enjoying our current novels; Kasper Prince of Cats and The Magic Carpet Slippers.

We began a new genre for Story Writing this week, we are now writing persuasive pieces. We spent time highlighting the core targets and persuasive phrases in an example yesterday so that we have a good understanding of what we need to include when we wrote our own.

In Maths we have started to look at different number patterns, we know that there are different types, including: repeating, growing and cyclical. We have been working on completing patterns which go up and down in equal steps.

For Topic this week we learned some interesting facts about what it was like when dinosaurs roamed the earth, we also learned how Scientist work to discover fossils and what form the fossils may take. We drew a velociraptor for Art and we also built our own ‘Pet T-Rex’ ” so far they have been well behaved and friendly pets 🙂

For Music this week we learned how to play a Christmas Tune on the xylophone, it was very noisy but fun.

For Health and Well-being we have started to read Wonder, this has helped us focus on the importance of not judging others and showing respect.

T0day we celebrate the Feast Day of the Patron Saint of our country Saint Andrew.

Thanks for reading our blog this week
