In the school library we have many different types of books which are organised into collections:

Learning Support – includes Barrington Stoke and Polish/Romanian language novels

Classic Fiction **
All Junior, Teen, Learning Support and Classic fiction books are labelled with a genre sticker to help pupils pick a book that matches their interests.
There are fourteen genres available: Adventure, Animal Story, Comedy, Crime/Mystery, Family/School, Fantasy, Graphic Novels and Manga, Horror, Multi-Cultural/Scottish, Poetry, Romance, Science Fiction, Sport and War/History.
The Junior Fiction books are also labelled with a colour (red, blue, green, and orange) which helps pupils to pick a book at the right reading level for them.
Red = Confident reader
Blue = Capable reader
Green = Average reader
Orange = Unsure reader
*Please note that only S2 pupils and above can borrow from Shelf Help, Classic Fiction and Teen Fiction. These collections are not available to S1 pupils.*
**Furthermore, S2-S3 pupils can only borrow certain titles from Shelf Help or Classic Fiction and they must get their parent/carer to sign a permission letter which they can get from Mrs Scott.**
**Pupils in S4-S6 can borrow any title from Shelf Help or Classic Fiction and do not require parental/carer permission.**
