Bonjour! Ça va?

Primaries 4-7 have been developing their knowledge of the French language. We have been learning greetings, asking and answering simple questions about ourselves, numbers, days, months and weather. This week we have been putting our learning so far to the test, and completing jigsaws matching French questions and phrases to the English translations. Il était difficile!

90’s Technology

Today we were learning about technology from the 90’s. We looked at pictures of old mobile phones, they were big, had bad graphics and push buttons! How long did it take to write a text message?! We learned about the devices used to save information on your computer…… How weird were floppy discs?! We listened to music on cassette tapes, on a Sony Walkman and played Tetris on a Gameboy. We had lots of fun today!

P3/4/5 Writing – Little Red Riding Hood

P3/4/5L have today had fun using Powerpoint to retell the story of Little Red Riding Hood in our own words. We started by reading the story and sequencing the pictures in the correct order. After that we worked as a team to put words to the pictures. If you want to read the finished story you can find the Powerpoint at the below link, just click download!

Nursery Easter Bonnet Parade

The children from the nursery have been very busy taking part in Easter activities and practicing their songs for our annual Easter Bonnet Parade that took place on Thursday. The bonnets were spectacular and Mrs Milligan found it very challenging to judge which one was best.  Well done!

Chocolate Easter Nests

This week we incorporated our cooking, writing and Easter/Spring learning. We made Chocolate Easter nests with cornflakes, chocolate and mini eggs. We used the hob to melt the chocolate, then stirred in the cornflakes. After spooning them into the cake cases we put some mini eggs on the top to look like eggs in a birds nest. The cakes took an hour to set in the fridge. We loved the tidying up afterwards, we were sneakily licking the spoons and bowl when Mrs Black wasn’t looking!

Learning Logs

Every week we document what we have learned in our Learning Log. On a Friday afternoon we write what we have learned, what we enjoyed, what we struggled with, how we could fix it and what we are looking forward to in the next week. Our logs are full of our learning and achievements and we enjoy sharing these with our families.
