March 2016 update

The JRSO committee have been very busy exploring the JRSO website and finding ways to promote it to the rest of the school.

We have been following the Safer Cycling Campaign by highlighting the importance of wearing a helmet when you are riding on your bike.

A selection of posters have been designed by the JRSO committee members and can be found displayed around the school.

This month we have been focussing on the WOW (Walk Once a Week) Scheme where pupils are encouraged, where possible, to get out of their cars at least once a week and reap the social, environmental and health benefits of active travel.

Part of the WOW scheme offered a competition to design one of the badges that pupils can received if pupils reach certain goals. We had a large great number of entries and had to select three of these to be put forward and judged beside all of the entries from North Lanarkshire schools. Mrs Dodds helped Mrs Harvey to choose the top 3 which were designed by Emma Kerr, Declan Brown and Hazel McKendrick.

Winners will be announced in the month of May. Good Luck!!!
