Last night, Clyde Valley High School held its annual Public Speaking Competition, an event which is open to pupils of it’s cluster primary schools.

Iona Cowie was the representative from Castlehill and she wowed the audience with her confident speech. Her chosen subject was the life of Miley Cyrus, pop star and lead character in the Hannah Montana television programmes. Members of Iona’s family, friends and Mrs Milligan were all in there in support.

Mrs Milligan was very impressed by Iona’ s efforts and commented on her bravery in speaking in front of such a large audience of relative strangers. She also noticed that Iona  encouraged and reassured her fellow speakers and this showed maturity and consideration for others.

Well done Iona! You are a credit to this school.
