Assembly 8th November

Mrs Mackenzie led our Assembly on Remembrance. She explained that we are remembering all those who have lost their lives or have been injured while fighting in wars over the years. She also explained to us why we wear poppies as a symbol of Remembrance.

In groups, pupils worked together to create acrostic poems and to write letters to soldiers, thanking them for risking their lives in conflict. People remember the fallen in many different ways and we watched a short film clip of The Poppy Girls, a group of  young singers who have recorded a song to raise money for the Poppy Appeal. More can be read about them and their fundraising efforts here.

We celebrated our Confident Individuals and Effective Contributors. Congratulations to our award winners.
