Assembly 4th October 2013

This week’s Assembly was led by Mrs Dyer and Mrs Mackenzie and was based on our current Health and Religious and Moral Education teachings.

During Health lessons, pupils have been learning about the Eatwell Plate and what food groups e.g. proteins, carbohydrates, etc, should make up our meal and in what proportions. Children took part in a survey to see what the most popular fast foods were. We must all remember to try and eat a balanced diet and keep sweets and treats to a minimum.

Mrs Mackenzie pitched a group of adults against a group of children in a competition to see who could rearrange the days of the Creation in the correct order. The pupils won by quite a margin! There were also 3 prizes awarded to pupils who had completed the best Creation booklet during R.M.E. lessons. As we are a Health Promoting School, the prizes ranged from a tangerine to a melon….much to the children’s delight!

This week we celebrated Successful Learners and Responsible Citizens, acknowledging children who had shown good problem solving skills, independant working and a mature and respectful attitude  to others.

Congratulations to all our award winners.
