Guide Dogs

Guide dog puppies Krista , Carmel and Delias visited the school yesterday to collect hand knitted blankets that had been knitted specially by staff and pupils for them and other Guide Dog puppies. Thirteen blankets have been gifted so far and we are still knitting! We are hoping that the pups will keep their blankets throughout their puppy years, their formal training and into their retirement. Guide dog puppy walkers Anne, Leslie and John were also presented with a cheque for £25 and a Guide Dog collection tin with a further £20. Each year 3rd year ASDAN pupils have been fundraising for Guide Dogs for 4 years as part of their Charities Challenge. Written by Mrs Leckie.

BGE Graduation (S3) – Friday 17th June

Under Curriculum for Excellence schools are now structured in the following way. S1-S3, The Broad General Education (BGE) where pupils are developing the skills and abilities required for starting their courses leading to National Awards in S4. To give all our pupils the chance to have their successes in BGE celebrated we are holding a graduation ceremony where every pupil in third year will receive a certificate and a senior tie. As all S3 pupils are attending we do not have enough capacity for parents/carers so we plan to photograph each pupil with their certificate. Pupils will be dismissed after the assembly. This year S3 has been a fantastic year group and we wish them every success in the next stage of their education.
