Tinto Hill

A group of 35 S1 Braidhurst pupils took part in an organised ascent of Tinto Hill for the St. Andrew’s Hospice charity. All 35 managed to complete the difficult climb and enjoyed panoramic views and lunch at the top of the Cairn. The group were accompanied by Mr. McGuire and Mr. Hussain from the science department and classroom assistant Miss Sweeney. The weather conditions were excellent and the pupils thoroughly enjoyed their day out although there were some sore feet at the end!

Prom 2014

Around 140 pupils and staff are currently looking forward to this year’s Prom which will take place at the Popinjay Hotel on Thursday 5th June. Donations of £2000 have allowed the ticket price to be set at £15, for what is always the main highlight of the session for senior pupils.

School Show 2014

This year Braidhurst High will perform ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Rehearsals have been underway for several weeks, led by staff from the Performing Arts Department.

Nurture Training

Braidhurst High hosted a group of Head Teachers and Depute Heads from Glasgow last week who visited the school to find out about the Nuture Unit running in the school.  The rector, Mr Derrick Hannan, delivered a presentation on the subject followed by a visit to see the facility in the school.  Those attending expressed their thanks and admiration for the work going on in the school.

Halloween Disco

Braidhurst High pupils dressed up last week to enjoy the annual Halloween Disco organised by the House Captains.  The event was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone in attendance and the pupils were unrecognisable in their fancy dress.  The House Captains made an excellent job of ensuring the younger pupils had an exciting evening especially with the ‘corridor of darkness’ set up by them before entry to the hall.
